Salicylic Acid and Acne Treatment

Also chemically known as orthohydroxybenzoic acid, salicylic acid refers to a colorless, crystalline organic carboxylic acid.

Usually prepared by Kolbe synthesis, the substance is derived from the bark of willow trees and wintergreen leaves.
