Tetracyclin and its Side Effects
Historically
one of the most crucial antibiotics ever discovered,
Tetracycline is a broad-spectrum antibiotic produced
by the streptomyces bacterium, indicated for use
against many bacterial infections.
The said antibiotic
is generally used to treat acne vulgaris. As such
it makes an effective Back Acne treatment.
Aside from
being one of the well-known, if not the best acne
doctor medicines around,
Tetracycline is used to
treat bacterial infections, including pneumonia and
other respiratory tract infections, genital and urinary
problems, and the infection that causes stomach ulcers.

It is also prescribed as an alternative to other
medications for Lyme disease and anthrax. This Acne Popular
Treatment is sold under the brand names Sumycin, Tetracyn
and Panmycin, among others. Dentists use the medicine's
more thread-like fiber form, Actisite. Tetracycline comes
in both capsule and liquid forms, in dosages to be taken
orally. Usually, this acne removal treatment is taken two
to four times daily.
Those who plan on taking this acne skin treatment
must refrain from eating an hour or two before the intake
of the medicine. They must especially avoid intake of Tetracycline
when they’ve eaten dairy products such as milk, yogurt,
cheese, and ice cream. Moreover, antacids containing aluminum,
calcium, or magnesium are known to affect the absorption
of the drug.

If one must
take this acne cyst treatment in suspension or liquid
form, the liquid must be shaken well before each
use to mix the medication evenly.
For all its renown as an acne treatment
product, Tetracycline causes side effects to the user.
In any case, these side effects must merit the attention
of a doctor at once.
Whether or not they are a rarity, some of
the side effects can be serious.
More common side effects
are not limited to anemia, blood disorders, blurred
vision and headache, bulging soft spot on the head,
diarrhea, difficult or painful swallowing, |
dizziness, extreme allergic reactions, genital
or anal sores or rash, hives, inflammation of large bowel,
inflammation of the tongue, inflammation of the upper digestive
tract, increased sensitivity to light, loss of appetite,
nausea, rash, ringing in the ears, swelling due to fluid
accumulation, vision disturbance, and vomiting.
Rarer side effects, but not any less risky, are inflamed skin, inflammation of the penis, liver poisoning, muscle weakness, peeling, skin eruptions, throat sores and inflammation.
It must be remembered that Tetracycline should never be taken during pregnancy or in children under the age of 8. Dosage may affect the development of the unborn child's bones and teeth and damage developing teeth and cause permanent discoloration in older children.
Kidney ailments may necessitate a lower than usual prescription of Tetracycline.
Exposure to sunlight or ultraviolet light can
cause sunburn to those under medication with Tetracycline
drugs.
