Adult Acne Control

Studies estimate that adult acne affects 25% of all adult men and 50% of adult women at some time in their adult lives.  Whether these are reliable findings, adult acne is as real as it gets, the same way it can in a teen.

It is important to realize that onset of acne among adults is more common than people may think. Acne strikes adults but it is not certain what exactly causes the seemingly late breakouts.

A strong theory points to hormonal roots.  Thus it is common – as it is appropriate - among adults today to prioritize a trip to dermatologists and seek adult acne skin care treatment, which may involve checking of hormones.

Other factors being looked into the study of adult onset acne are dietary habits and stress.

The latter causes the body to release cortisol, which spurs the production of hormones that overstimulate oil glands.

The assumption is one or combination of these external factors, or may be of multifaceted origin: stress (general lifestyle), diet and hormonal changes. The sadder part here is the opinion of the experts that adult acne is more likely to leave permanent physical acne scars; as the skin ages and loses collagen, it's much harder for care skin to recover after tissue damage.

Nevertheless cosmetic skin care treatment is necessary to thwart infections and deep, wide scarring. There are many medication skin care products however the base component is similar to acne treatment for teenagers such as benzoyl peroxide or retinoids (vitamin A derivatives).  Prescription treatments (including oral contraceptives), proactive skin care and over-the-counter acne products are just as appropriate.
