Homemade Acne Treatment
Acne results
from several factors among them the lack of vital
vitamins like Vitamin A, Vitamin E and Pantothenic
Acid.
Maintaining diet rich in these essential
vitamins such as vegetables and fruits will certainly
avert, and perhaps, in the process will do a great
deal in treating acne. Over-the-counter
acne treatment products have greatly advanced and
for the most part they work well.
What deters
some from using “branded” acne products
are the line up of chemical contents which can cause
irritation and further skin problems. The effectiveness
of homemade acne treatments is still doubted.

This despite the fact that a check of
the formulation of acne popular treatments would
reveal that most contain substances found in common
vegetables and fruits.
It is worth noting though that like all skin
treatments -- even the best acne doctor medicine prescriptions
-- works differently in different people in different acne
cases.
Homemade acne treatments fall in the category
of acne alternative treatments. As such, an acne-stricken person has all the options.
For one, cleaning the skin with lemon is an effective acne skin treatment. The citric acid in lemon has properties that can kill harmful bacteria present in acne. A paste of orange peels also cleanses the skin and fights harmful bacteria.

Oatmeal, prepared as
facial mask (thick paste of oatmeal and water) can
absorb oil from the skin. This can be done
for 10 to 20 minutes twice in a day (morning and
evening).
Also excellent combinations for a
mask are grated apple with honey, and a combo of
egg white, a few drops of witch hazel and lemon juice.
Raw papayas, with its papain enzyme, “dissolves” oil
residue that clogs the pores and can help lighten the
skin.
Same goes for a toner made from mint juice
which can remove skin lesions and scars. |
“Eat some and apply some” goes for tomatoes. Tomato juice extract works wonders for oily skin. Early
on the healing, tomato can minimize the appearance of acne scars.
Mature acnes can be applied on the spot with garlic, which works wonderfully because of its high anti-bacterial properties. Regular applications of tea tree oil, coconut oil, lavender oil and jojoba oil before bathing for an hour can reduce acne.
Doing it the “home way” is akin to a clinical regimen. There are procedures involved at they require a strict adherence to schedule. Until good results are achieved, have the will.
