Acne Treatments
Acne can be
treated. There are qualified dermatologists and several
acne popular treatments, therapeutic methods and
acne alternative treatments available today to treat
all cases of acne.
One prevails over this
nasty - if not ugly - skin condition by treating
acne early in its course.
Study shows that
acne responds especially well to early acne skin
treatments.
Prompt and proper treatment maximizes
the effectiveness of any medication, prevents new
ones from forming and limits the extent of scarring. |

However, there are several observable factors
to consider – the understanding of which will ‘aid’ the
acne skin treatment process. Resolution takes time, so “quick” and “extraordinary” cure
claims are flukes because on average, 6 to 8 weeks are
needed to see initial results.
What works for one person
may not work for another considering the cause(s) of the
acne, the severity of the acne, types of lesions present,
co-existing conditions, as well as the patient's skin type,
age, lifestyle and motivation.
Consequently a dermatologist's
help may be required -- which can certainly make a difference. A
clinical perspective is important in assessing the aforementioned
factors and will greatly assist in determining the kind
of medication needed or the kind of acne treatment products
to recommend.
Mild or juvenile acne may be treated at home
with over-the-counter (OTC) topical medicines available
in drugstores such as antibiotics, benzoyl peroxide, adapalene
and tretinoin. These medications work by preventing
the spread of bacteria and reducing inflammation.

Moderate to severe acne
is characterized with the presence of more whiteheads
and redness on the affected spots due to the vessels
rupture.
Acne removal treatment may consist
of a combination of topical antimicrobial, oral antibiotics
(tetracycline, minocycline, isotretinoin, doxicycline
and erythromycin), and alternatives such as sulphur
drug preparations.
Severe acne is distinguished with the presence
of deep cysts, inflammation, scarring and disfiguring
damage to the skin, and can occupy the entire face,
back and neck areas. |
As practically obligatory, a regular appointment
with a dermatologist coupled with an aggressive treatment
regimen should be prioritized.
The treatment can require years of regular therapy sessions combining laboratory methods and prescription medications to include drainage and surgical excision, interlesional corticosteroid injection, isotretinoin, oral antibiotics, among others. However, the patient may experience one or more treatment failures.
