For Acne Scars
The body's inflammatory response to acne lesions causes the formation of acne scars. The type of acne skin care treatment selected should be the one that is best in terms of skin type, the cost, and the possibility that some types of acne treatment may result in more scarring if a patient is very susceptible to scar formation.
It is important
to ensure that the acne has been properly treated
prior to the application of any professional and ‘on
purpose’ acne scar treatment.
Recommended,
as it is necessary are Isotretinoin and proactiv
skin care line.
Medication skin care treatment
for acne scars varies depending on the type scars: raised
or depressed (sunken).
Today best results are mostly achieved
by a number of cosmetic skin care dermatologic surgery
procedures.
Raised scars and acne cysts can be reduced
in size with injections of steroids.

While there are no known pronounced internal
effects with this care skin treatment, it is best that
the attending doctor should be ready to explain the likelihood
of any side effects considering external factors.
More stubborn cysts would require excisions
by surgical removal Depressed scars need to be repaired
down to normal skin. Commercial skin care products with
hydroxy acids (AHAs) will not peel deeply enough to achieve
good results. Excision is a good option if these
scars are isolated. Multiple
depressed scars is best treated with laser resurfacing
and alternatively, chemical peels and dermabrasion.

Mild to moderate scarring
is treated with injections of collagen - a normal
substance of the body - which works by “filling
out” certain types of superficial and deep
soft scars.
Deep contour defects caused by scarring
from nodulocystic acne is corrected with autologous
fat transfer, fat is taken from another site on one's
own body and prepared for injection into the affected
area of the skin to elevate depressed scars.
Dermabrasion uses a high-speed brush to
remove surface skin and alter the contour of scars
to completely remove superficial and reduce deeper
scars. |
Microdermabrasion
on the other hand is a surface form of dermabrasion using
aluminum oxide crystals.
Other acne scar treatments include laser skin care treatment, skin surgery (by “punch” excision or subcision), and, skin grafting (needed to close the defect of the unroofed sinus tracts).
Still, the best way to prevent scars is to treat acne early, and as long as necessary.
