Hair Care
Proper hair care is about managing the tresses
following the right, essential steps. It can start from the
basic daily thing of shampooing and conditioning to fussy
saloon-trip treatments and appointments with a hair professional.
Soaking the hair wet
before applying shampoo will need less amount of
shampoo. It is best to use the pads of the
fingertips when massaging lather into the scalp.
Running
the fingers through the hair from front to back will
prevent tangling. As it goes for skin care products,
shampoos are available in different formulation to
address the different
needs of different hair types and conditions.
Volumizing
shampoo is designed for fine, limp hair that easily
lies flat. Much like a skin care cream formula, this
shampoo cleanses the scalp of its natural oil, which
can weigh hair down.

‘Moisturizing’ or ‘Replenishing’ shampoo
is heavier on the moisturizing ingredients and is formulated
to be gentle to dry, frizzy damaged hair. ‘Normalizing’ or ‘For
Daily Use’ shampoo is for thin, thick, or medium-textured
hair that does not need moisturizing. It has a gentle
formulation designed to cleanse hair without stripping its
natural protective oils. It is also recommended for
heads with very dry ends but an oilier scalp.
Clarifying shampoo is considered a ‘super-strength shampoo’ designed to strip the hair shaft of any oils, styling-product residue, or other pollutants. It works best for hair that requires a lot of styling products.
Color-protective shampoo is formulated to be very gentle to color-treated hair, so color won't be washed away when the shampoo is lathered up and rinsed. Naturally, this type of shampoo boosts the hair shade's longevity.

The type
of shampoo the frequency of use does make a difference.
Hair
experts agree that using a shampoo that contains
a high percentage of the lathering agent sodium laureth
sulfate can deplete moisture out of the hair because
it is so drying.
It is best that the shampoo formulation
is checked. Otherwise a cosmetic skin care product
that doesn't have any ‘strong’ ingredient
at all or that is billed as a gentle cleanser.
Meanwhile, there are innovative shampoos
available that went beyond cleansing and actually cater
to some hair complaints.

There are hair products that can strengthen
hair, reduce hair loss from breakage, slow hair ageing
or combat temporary hair loss.
Specifically, shampoos containing
natural skin care ingredients like coconut oil and its
antioxidants can help protect hair from the environment.
Also, herbal skin care formulation like Gingko biloba stimulates
the scalp, which can help promote hair growth.
Rinsing the hair well is very important. Some care skin and hair professionals advise the use cold water in rising as this would flatten the outer layer of the hair shaft. The smoother the surface, the better it reflects light, thus shinier. Some though are not buying idea and would maintain that the most important thing is rinsing the hair thoroughly. An amount of shampoo residue can dull hair's shine.
With conditioner, hair shorter than four inches long would need dime-size dollop, while the size of a nickel or quarter for longer hair. Apply the conditioner where it is most needed, which are the end portions.
When using a volumizing mousse or thickening spray, start on the roots then work through the tresses. Applying mousse, gel, styling cream, wax to the ends only will achieve a less greasy hair.
A hair mask is thick, moisturizing conditioner applied to hair and allowed to penetrate for twenty to thirty minutes. It can soften naturally dry, coarse hair and adds moisture and elasticity especially those damaged from color and chemical treatments.
Scalp tonic is a thin liquid applied directly to the scalp. It ca soothe itchy scalps or de-grease oily scalps and encourage hair-root health.
