Skin Care & Products
Today, to say “expensive
products are better than inexpensive ones” is
becoming to be a misconception.
The most important
consideration is -- care skin formulation should
match skin type: oily to dry, sensitive to resistant,
pigmented to non-pigmented, or tight to wrinkled.
A person's skin can be classified then
as “dry,
resistant, pigmented, with a tendency to wrinkle,” or
the other way around.
The various chemicals,
vitamins and even organic skin care ingredients present
in a skin care product may work to enhance or directly
or indirectly damage the skin.

The good news: there are cleansers, moisturizers,
toners and wrinkle creams that contain grade vitamins,
minerals and herbal skin care ingredients that are clinically
tested and proven to be healthy for skin. Cosmetic skin care
companies today are all too willing to promise help in achieving
a preternaturally flawless skin and, in fact have produced
excellent beauty skin care lines.
Sunscreen is essential – read: a must! - for preventing sun damage and lowering risk of developing skin cancer. Many skin care brands have facial moisturizers containing SPF. For example, a practically all-purpose skin care product such as a face lotion would contain SPF 15, alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs) and vitamin C.

The skin under
the eyes is more sensitive and tend to be dry than
the skin on the rest of the face. Skin that was not
treated to enough sleep is dry, not to mention the
dark circles around the eyes.
Lack of sleep takes
away moisture and accelerates aging. A best skin
care therapy would be an eye cream that contains
more emollient moisturizers.
Likewise, there are
eye creams that promise to minimize dark circles
and tighten fine lines.
The onset of wrinkles and
pigmentation spots is best helped with a facial skin
care cream with retinol (a derivative of vitamin
A).

The treatment is
best done at night before bedtime when the skin is
regenerating. A body lotion with skin-sloughing alpha-hydroxy
acids smoothes the whole body, including hands, feet, arms,
and legs. Tough dry spots require extra application especially
before hitting the bed.
